Kisumu Farmers, Don’t miss plant clinics

Crop farmers in Kisumu County will benefit from a reduction in crop production losses, following the launch of the Plant Clinics Programme that seeks to help small holder farmers with an opportunity to diagnose plant pests and diseases as well ways of management for improved crop productivity.

The Plant Clinics are planned to be held every month in the following centres: Nyamasaria market – 1st & 3rd Thursday of the month, Daraja Mbili market- 1st & 3rd Tuesday, Kombewa market -1st and 3rd Friday, Rabuor market – 1st and 3rd Wednesday, Ombeyi Market – 1st and 3rd Wednesday and Katito market- 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month.

Launching the Programme in Ahero, Kisumu Deputy Governor Dr. Mathew Owili noted food security as a priority for Kenya and the county, comments echoed earlier by Agriculture CEC Gilchrist Okuom.
