First virtual fresh produce trade fair records huge success

The first-ever fresh produce virtual trade fair was a tremendous success with 400 exhibitors participating in the three-day event held in the Italian city of Cesena. International exhibitors constituted 40 per cent of the participants.

Dubbed the Macfrut Digital, the event hosted by Natlive, a fresh produce industry-leading global platform, saw at least 530 units of fresh produce being sold. A total of 32,212 participants took part, 49 per cent of whom were foreigners.

During the fair, 208,000 pages were viewed and most of the 11 technical forums registered bookings beyond the set limit of 300 participants.

“The event was well-received. We will decide the future of the project together with sector professionals,” said Macfrut president Renzo Piraccini.

He said the platform would remain open until end of September to enable visitors to watch the on-demand forums and video content, a valuable asset to the industry.

The next Macfrut trade fair will be held in Rimini from 4th to 6th May 2021.
